Ioannis “Gianni” Koskinas is AAPG’s executive vice-president, directing much of our operations from our headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan. From Kabul, Gianni is able to lead both our U.S. Government contract support as well as risk analysis and mitigation for commercial clients investing on Afghanistan.

While on active duty with the United States Air Force, Colonel Koskinas’ most recent assignments include: Afghanistan-Pakistan senior policy advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, Special Advisor to Commander ISAF – General Stanley McChrystal, and Strategic Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force – General Norton A. Schwartz.

Colonel Koskinas has commanded an Expeditionary Group and multiple Combined/Joint Special Operations Squadrons and Detachments in combat; including operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Colombia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Greece. Also, Gianni was the Operations Officer and Squadron Commander of the prestigious and award winning 1st Special Operations Support Squadron. He has served two tours with the Joint Special Operations Command, was a proud member of the Air Force Special Operations Command, and focused on Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism Operations throughout his 20-year career in the Air Force.
